Ethos Eights: Co-Working Spaces

Our working work is changing. As more people go freelance, work remotely and start their own small businesses, co-working spaces have exploded. At the beginning of 2016, industry magazine Deskman forecast there would be 10,000 co-working spaces open by the end of the year. Here are eight of our favourite.

01. Mesh, Oslo

Cool and collaborative, this former nightclub has grown up, expanded across the street and supports a raft of Norway’s most innovative entrepreneurs. Definitely a club you’d want to be a member of.

Working destination of choice in Shoreditch, the lavish Trampery space is a hotbed of collaboration for tech entrepreneurs, and has flowered into four venues across the capital.

Run by women, for women. A flexible work and social space specifically designed for female entrepreneurs, with everything from a boardroom to blow dry on hand…

06. C-base, Berlin

Not technically, a co-working space. But this legendary Berlin backspace made internet available to users in 2002, creating a flexible working model.

A beacon in a country with 6% internet coverage and 30% phone penetration, this is the Ethiopian capital’s first co-working space.
